I just returned from the Southeastern Custom Knife Show and a short stay with GenO. It was a very nice show and I highly recommend going. The folks in the North Carolina Guild really know how to treat you right!
Well as you may have noticed that the updates are very slow indeed! Sorry, but not everything goes as I hope. But we do have some plans that I hope to show you soon. We are still working on the "one-off" models and you should see one before the end of the year. We will also be offering exclusive versions of the standard models with very nice materials.
Changes have been made to the catalog. The first change is the deletion of a couple of models: the SS model and the FK model. Replacing these are the CoonSkinner and two Gent's knives. The first Gent's knife is the Gent's Semiskinner model and the Gent's Hunter (clip point version) model. GenO will also be offering a Hunter with a drop point later. Check the catalog for more details and pricing. You should also know that GenO has some very nice stag for the Coonskinner that is going quickly. These are only $150.

First a little news about a knife that is no longer available. This subhilt fighter has been dropped and a new model has been added. Look at the catalog for a picture and the complete specifications.
Well we've been online for 1 year and 7 months and the site has a new home at Atlanta Virtual (if you are needing full service hosting, you won't find any better). With this change, I will also be changing the site from time to time...that is, slowly as time permits, I will make some additions and upgrades. I hope to add a small search feature, user forums, and some more dynamic content. I will also work on a face lift.
In other news, GenO and I have been talking about offering some "one-off" designs and prototypes exclusively through the web (don't call). The current project is a large Bowie-style camp knife in O1 tool steel. Keep posted as we show you this work in progress.
Don't forget to go to the Southeastern Custom Knife Show coming September 7th and 8th.

It's been a month since the BladeShow and I've been busy and apologize for not updating the site sooner, but I do have a candid snapshot to prove we were there! I spent a few days afterward at the shop again and had a great time. Cindy is one great cook! I can't wait until next year.

We've added a little pop-up window to announce the available "floaters" that can be ordered for immediate delivery. You can get there directly at www.cavemanengineering.com/available.html.

Well, it's been over 2 weeks since the Blade Show and we have a lot to report. The show went very well and we all had a good time. Marion Gunter helped work the table and kept us all straight. Gus Kalanzis got this snapshot. After the show, I got to spend a few days with GenO and Cindy. I've not found any better southern hospitality! The CaveShop was a wonder to behold and I learned many top secret processes that I had to swear not to divulge. GenO and I are working on some projects that we will reveal when we get further along.
The gallery has been updated. One knife that you might want a look at is this beautiful subhilt fighter with kudu and stag. This is currently a special order, so contact GenO to place your order.
The links page has been updated to add Pop's Knives and Supplies. Pop has everything from Abrasives to Wax and some very good prices.

I've been busy, so a lot of news has built up over that time. GenO has been busy as well but still has time to add some new knife designs. The first is a large double-edged fighter. I don't have the specs yet, but will add it to the catalog as soon as I do. If you can't wait, then contact GenO. The second knife is designed after a collaboration with George Herron. It is based on the Herron #2 and looks to be a great all-round knife. Finally, GenO has purchased a few kudu horns for knife handles. If you've been wanting that Chute knife in kudu, now is your chance. I personally like the B model or the new Herron #2 design in kudu. Don't miss out!

The Scorpions are coming! GenO is in the final stages of design and testing of the new Scorpion model. This model is a subhilt knife to complement the Chute knife in the tactical offerings. It is slimmer and comes in two models. The base model will have ATS-34 blade with Micarta handle and guards. The other offering will have a 440V (S60V) blade and have stainless guards. Check out the evolution of the Scorpion in these two pictures: Scorpions 1, Scorpions 2.

Well, it only took a week before we were hacked. I (Jeff) found it this morning. Apparently, the "Ramen Linux Worm" made its way to the system last night and replaced our index page...as well as all the index pages on the system! I made the appropriate changes to the system, cleaned it up, and restored the files. It seems destruction is a way of life for some people. I'd like to meet them face-to-face. In any case, I hope that this problem did not inconvenience you in any way...if it did, I apologize. --resuming normally scheduled programming--

Everything is new! Caveman Engineering has officially launched a website...CaveWeb. We put this together rather quickly, so we are far from complete, since we want to put up better photographs, web email to GenO, online order forms, better descriptions and a spit-polish shine to make the site look sharp. But it's up for you to see what we've been doing and to see the knives. Hope you enjoy it!
